The story of The Record Truck really starts on a Fisher Price turntable. That’s what my dad gave me around 3 years old, along with albums by the Beatles, Neil Young, and The Monkees. It was his massive collection and love of music that inspired a lifelong passion I’m now sharing with the Windy City. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just got your first turntable, The Record Truck is the newest addition to Chicago’s vibrant vinyl community.

The truck’s name is Gloria and she is a 1927 Ford Model TT with a modified drivetrain, gas, automatic power glide transmission. It was local to Southern Michigan for 70 years, primarily serving as an advertising piece for a local company before being purchased by current owner in 2025.

The Record Truck will hit the road soon, visiting craft fairs, farmers markets, block parties, flea markets, and more to sell a wide selection of used LPs and 45s.

Additionally, the truck can be rented for outdoor DJ setups, complete with a PA system. It is also available for use in photo shoots and for period film/tv productions.
